I still remember on Shivratri, in my childhood, I used to visit the nearby temple early in the morning, before sunrise with my parents. These were the last days of winter, and it was a little cold but with more of a fresh spring breeze. I used to wear Indian dress specially and go with mom and dad to offer gangajal, flowers, and dhatura along with all the puja items. Offering gangajal on Shivratri was quite a struggle due to the large crowd. Everyone like us was making their way towards the Shivling to offer their offerings, and once you somehow managed to do it, it seemed like everything was done. Darshan was good. A lot of joy and satisfaction were felt. Shiv bhajans were played in temples on this day. Rituals were important for us. Nothing else mattered other than rituals.
I have spent a good number of years not only practicing religion but also trying to understand it by whatever God made me understand. I still believe in prayers to anchor myself, but I am more spiritual now. For me, Shiva has become much more than in earlier times. He cannot be bribed by any offering. For me, he is not limited to any form, story, ritual, or rule.
Even in religious stories, Shiva has broken every rule, whether it was meditating on a pyre, drinking water from a skull, smudging pyre ash on the body, living in cremation grounds, taking his barat in the strangest ways with bhoot pret, or living in places where no normal habitat can live. Sex, which is the tabooest and critically judged subject, he made it a very high spiritual experience of oneness with consciousness in Tantra. He drank halahal, which was the highest degree of poison.
He broke every rule that was considered auspicious and did everything that was considered highly inauspicious, but with his touch, everything became fortunate and golden. After reading these stories and listening to his bhajans countless times, I still had the impression that rituals are important to please him, but whom are we pleasing? Is Shiva a human form with a story, or is it beyond all this?
For me, Shiva is a frequency, and it is in all of us. There is no feeling of inauspiciousness when we experience this frequency. Everything turns into auspiciousness. It is fearless. It is expansion.
We need to tap inside ourselves to feel this frequency. The touch of this frequency is Shiva darshan. This is something like stillness, zero-ness, silence and nothing matters. It can be felt, but the mind takes time to put it into words.
It is the slowing down of breath. It is the expansion of life force. It is the breaking of every mental conditioning and discovering that no conditioning is actually there. All is vast. All is open. You can go anywhere. You can see the truth and all that which looks like truth but is not. Man-made social rules, Human laws, and Consciousness connection come in front of us. Clarity is there.
This frequency makes us feel nothing needs to be done. It is a feeling, like a whirlpool of self-love which tickles joy inside. You feel as if I AM ALREADY THERE. There is nowhere to go. There is no destination. There is nothing to lose or gain. All experiences are passing, and I am just witnessing waves of human emotions like a joy ride. I am safe and engulfed in HIS power in the physical body and outside the physical body. I am already fully connected without doing anything.
I don’t need to do anything to get him. I am so well accepted in my every human state. I am only loved and supported. There is no judgment.
You become the true human self as created by God without any man-made “should be’s” and “must be’s” social frames. All frames are broken with your authentic self-expansion. You feel the oneness of self and Supreme Self, and this is beautiful.
Satyam, Shivam, Sundram.
Shutting down all outside noises and only seeing truth as truth from our soul’s eye, accepting and surrendering fully in front of truth – Satya, makes the path to feel Shiva frequency, and this is most beautiful.
One more thing people say is that once you experience this frequency, then you are always fixed there, but I differ here. Yes, once you experience this frequency, then a lot of things are dropped. Something in you changes forever. Your way of looking at things becomes different. Your priorities change, but you come down and experience waves of human emotions as before. You cry, laugh, and feel all human emotion currents in the race of life.
The human body and life are under human laws until the time we are in this body.
The one difference is, your reference point is different forever now for everything. No matter what human emotion ride we go through but we feel rest in Shiva frequency so coming back in okness is faster.
Being all the same, then also something differs forever.
This is Shiva through my soul’s eyes.
I pray to God that we all experience the Shiva frequency in our lifetime and if in case someone is not able to feel then also it is ok because in reality, we all are equally Stemmed from our source always and Our source loves us without any conditions.
Some feel and some don’t but both are equally connected there. All is auspicious.
In gratitude
