You are meeting a friend over a dinner, and you get really inspired by his high-energy levels, spontaneous actions, charismatic smile, spark in his eyes and highly motivated attitude.
This inspires you, and you wish to start your tomorrow with the similar energy levels. Phew… What is this? Next day as the day is passing you are loosing your energy and feeling low in yourself and question with emotion of helplessness crosses your mind.
Why Am I so lazy???
May be what you are calling lethargy in you is not lethargy. Maybe it can be because of other reasons. Check out below :
1.) No Motivation for the task
May be the task which you need to complete is not of your interest and there is no motivation in it. Either we need to change the task or add it to something interesting. You can also give rewards to yourself after completing different milestones in your tasks. This will pep up your energy, and you will look forward to complete the task.
2.) Emotional and Physical drainage
Whenever we are emotionally and physically drained, then this works as a demotivation and if we gain energy, then that is also gone in repairing so no more creativity is done. It is important to know what is causing emotional drainage in us and sought it out as soon as possible, similarly we need to take necessary steps for our healthy physical body by right food and exercise out of love for our body and life.
3.) Lack of Clarity
Lack of clarity for our work or not knowing from where to start and how to proceed further leaves us confused, and we are stuck up. Rather than being stuck, we need to write out all the points what we know and the points what we don’t know. Put all clearly on a piece of paper. The second step is whatever we know we can start with it keeping in mind the calculative risk and whatever we don’t know we can take out right solutions for that by choosing right people who can guide us.
4.) Lack of support and resources
We all need support at every point in our life in different forms. If we feel supportless or there are not enough resources for our work, then this drains our energy, and we are held back. If we have strong will to do our work, then by thinking patiently we will surely get some way out. If you have 5% of what you can do and 95% of what you cannot do, then walk in the stream of 5%. This might take you towards a whole new dimension of possibilities rather than thinking about 95%.
5.) Anxiety
Today’s life is demanding in comparison to earlier times. We try to take results in our hands rather than focusing on our actions. People try to control the future, and controlling the future causes anxiety. Anxiety shuts our system, and we are not left with any energy to work. This is generally managed by putting things off.
Bhagwat Geeta has beautifully explained that give your 100% and leave the rest in the hands of God because result is not in our hands. Whatever the result will be, it has to be best for us.
6.) Overwhelmed by the size of the task
Sometimes we lose our energy by seeing the size of the task. The project is so big that before starting only we lose our interest. “The policy of one thing at a time” and “keep walking” is a sure shot formula in this. When we walk consistently, then we surely reach our destination.
7.) Lack of Self confidence
Lack of trust in our skills is major cause of holding us back, and we are scared to even try. Failure is not a risk. Not trying is the biggest risk. Today’s failure will be tomorrow’s success. Even failure gives us experience and sharpens our skills. Most successful names have faced major failures in their life. There is a famous saying try and try again, till you succeed. If a person is not trying, he looses the whole possibility of infinite success.
8.) Struggling with undiagnosed depression
Depression cuts off our ties with one’s own self, and the person looses all his power. Even certain deficiencies can cause lethargies, so right diagnose and treatment is very important for active and successful life.

So many times, lack of energy, demotivation, lack of interest, lack of self-belief, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression are not the reason in themselves. They are a result of some inside blockage. Inside blockage is caused by some part of us which is rejected by us. Human emotions are a part of human journey. Human emotions can be felt only till the time we are in human body. When we surpass these emotions then they hold us back. When we allow ourselves to feel them then they pass on their own and this is how we handle our low emotions.
When we judge ourselves too much and always give ourselves ‘ should be’s ’ based on our different belief systems and do not listen our own voice then this is rejecting that part of ourselves and this holds us back. This reflects out in the form of lethargy, demotivation, lack of self-esteem, confusions, anxiety and depression etc. This is so deep-rooted that we cannot even find out why this lethargy or demotivation is in life.
As much we go in rights and wrongs, judgements, Should be’s and do not allow ourselves to be our true self and try to be someone else that much we feel loss of energy.
We are extraordinary
We all are extraordinary in ourselves. We all are born with the greatest qualities. Furthermore, we all have our own unique colour light. As much as try to be like someone else that much we suppress our own shine. We become dark. As this is not our true self so, there is lack of self believe, demotivation, lack of interest, doubts, and fears.
As we give permission to ourselves to shine in our true light that much our shine gets the outlet to become brighter and brighter. This originality makes us participate in the game of life with full zeal and interest. We get power to take the responsibility of our actions as we are clear about our intentions. We find all interesting. This belief on Self surpasses all the doubts and fears. This Self belief gives us the enormous guidance and power to take risks and go through them. As we pass through them our Self worth increases multiple times and the game of life is super interesting for us. This is being in our own power. This is being in high energy.
