Is helping others effortful for you? Is it more of a moral teaching which you just follow for the sake of following?
This means you have not recieved love as much as you required it and you are in lack.
Recieve love. This overflow of abundance will make you loving others automatic and unconditional.
Recieve help. This gratitude will make you help all unconditionally.
Krishna was an epitome of Love and Ananda. The overflow was from his inner abundance and joy.
Lack is empty so what it will give. Lack gives lack.
Open your receiving channels. Abundance gives abundance.
